Brianna's Law goes into effect on January 1, 2020.  Under Brianna's Law, new boat owner's will no longer have a 120-day grace period from the date of purchase to obtain a safe boating certificate.  Also, beginning January 1, anyone operating a boat must have a certificate to do so.  All operators of motorized vessels, regardless of age, will need a Boating Safety Certificate by the end of 2025.
